Melrose Arch Office Buildings/ Johannesburg

Gauteng

Project Description

The design of building H303, a building containing specialist retail at ground level and offices on the remaining three floors, responds to a new urbanism framework designed by Urban Solutions and Osmond Lange for the Melrose Arch precinct.

The building responds to the street and build-to line by forming an understated wall that does not compete against the adjacent landmark building.  Apertures are architecturally defined by a series of cutouts in the façade.  Pavilions fragment the courtyard façade, allowing visual and physical accessibility towards the shared space, while providing unique offices and boardrooms.
